As always, Ohio communities will be pulling out all the stops to celebrate this special day with community events that the whole family can enjoy. Both Akron and North Canton have some holiday events that you won't want to miss.   • North Canton Jaycees July Fourth Parade – 605 Fair Oaks Ave. SW., North Canton, OH 44720
    The North Canton Jaycees July Fourth Parade is always a local favorite near North Canton homes for sale, providing the perfect event to kick off your celebration of the big day. You can see the parade on 7th Street, Main, and Harmon starting at 10:30 AM, or catch the end of the parade at North Canton Middle School at the address listed above. The parade features a wide variety of entertainment, from classic cars to dance teams, with an easy sign-up process if you'd like to join the parade with your own local group.

    Perhaps you'd like to fit in a great workout before digging into all of the goodies at a Fourth of July barbecue and have a great time in the process. This year marks the 44th annual edition of the North Canton YMCA July 4th Race, featuring four great races packed into one morning. The fun starts with the 100-yard Firecracker Dash for young children, followed by the 2-mile run for all ages. The 5-mile wheelchair and 5-mile races kick start shortly after, with routes that wind through North Canton.

    Summer and baseball go hand-in-hand, so why not celebrate the Fourth of July with a trip to the ballpark? The Akron RubberDucks provide affordable family entertainment near Akron homes for sale all summer long, and the Fourth of July is always one of the biggest nights of the season. Start things off by watching the RubberDucks go toe to toe with the Altoona Curve, and be sure to stick around after the game. Once the final pitch has been thrown, the biggest fireworks show of the year will light up the sky above Canal Park.

    Start your celebration early with a trip to the Rib, White and Blue Festival in downtown Akron, which kicks off on Friday, July 1 and runs straight through the Fourth of July. Each day of the festival runs from morning through late evening, with great food, live entertainment, and free admission. Each night is highlighted by a free, live concert with tribute bands playing the hits from some of your favorite classic rock artists, including Bruce Springsteen, Queen, and Journey.

  • Akron Fireworks – 200 S. Main St., Akron, OH 44308
    Want to see fireworks but can't make it out to the RubberDucks game? The Akron Fireworks show will be held at the same location as the Rib, White and Blue Festival, starting at 9:45 PM on the Fourth of July. Stake out your spot early for the best views, and get ready for a spectacular show.
